21/05/2025The ‘Chatty Bus’: A Restore and Oxford Bus Company collaboration
On the 14th of May, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, Restore is excited to be working with the Oxford Bus Company and their ‘Chatty Bus’ initiative. Ride the 5A bus, chat with people, and get a free voucher to have a chatty coffee at the Restore Garden Cafe.
Friendly volunteers from the Oxford Bus Company will be on board the 5A service from 9:00 to 15:00, to create and open conversations to suit all interests – providing information about local Oxfordshire activities and social groups.
The Manzil Way bus stop announcement is even changing to say ‘Restore Garden Cafe’! A £5 drinks voucher for the cafe will be available to anyone who engages in a meaningful conversation on board.
As The Oxford Bus Company says, this event is perfect for:
- Concessionary bus pass holders looking to socialise
- Anyone feeling lonely or isolated and who wants to connect with others
- People of all ages who enjoy exploring Oxford by bus and would like to chat to others.
