Oxford Half Marathon – Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to all participants fundraising for Restore. Additional conditions apply only to those taking part with a Charity Place, as set out below.
1. Event organisation and data
1.1 The event is organised by a third-party organiser, Motiv Sports UK. Restore will share relevant information you provide with the organiser to support the planning and delivery of the event. Motiv Sports UK may request additional personal information to ensure the safe running of the event. For further details on how your data will be used, please see www.restore.org.uk/privacy-notice.
2. Charity Place – registration and fundraising conditions
The following clauses apply only if you have accepted a Charity Place with Restore.
2.1 You agree to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £19.99 to secure your Charity Place. This fee does not count towards your fundraising target.
2.2 Each individual runner commits to raising a minimum of £150 for Restore, excluding Gift Aid, in addition to the registration fee. Gift Aid cannot be used to meet this minimum or to cover any fundraising shortfall. You agree to raise as much as possible above this amount.
2.3 All fundraising must be paid to Restore within six weeks of the event. If you do not reach the £150 minimum (excluding Gift Aid), you agree to personally donate the shortfall.
2.4 Charity Places cannot be deferred or transferred. If you are unable to take part, you agree to inform Restore’s Fundraising and Communications Team as soon as possible.
2.5 You must complete any additional registration required by the event organiser by the stated deadline. Failure to do so may result in your place being withdrawn. Restore will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any applicable deadlines.
3. Own Place participants
3.1 If you have secured your own place directly with the event organiser and are fundraising for Restore, the registration fee, minimum fundraising target and shortfall liability set out in section 2 do not apply.
3.2 Own Place participants are encouraged to raise as much as possible for Restore, but there is no minimum fundraising requirement.
4. Circumstances where a Charity Place may be withdrawn
4.1 A Charity Place may be withdrawn if:
a) Your behaviour risks bringing Restore into disrepute.
b) You fail to complete the event organiser’s registration within seven days of receipt, or within 24 hours if the event is within four weeks.
c) You do not create a fundraising page at least three months before the event, or within 48 hours if signing up closer to the event.
d) You do not begin fundraising within the expected timeframes: more than £1 raised by eight weeks before the event and at least one third of your fundraising target raised by four weeks before the event.
e) You have previously taken part in an event for Restore and failed to meet fundraising or participation requirements.
