Come to the Fleet Meadow Autumn Fair on Saturday 6th September, 11.30am – 4.30pm.
Children can enjoy a bouncy castle, face painting, rabbits and snakes to pet, craft workshops and fairground attractions. There is plenty for adults too, with weaving workshops, art displays, crafts and vegetable stalls and a massage tent.
This is a fantastic opportunity to see inside the recovery group, and to walk around their beautiful community garden and orchard.
The fair is organised by members of Fleet Meadow Recovery Group with the aim to raise funds for the group and to challenge the stigma often attached to mental illness.
Our volunteering guru, Jeanne, will be on hand all day to talk to people about volunteering opportunities.
The tragic death of Robin Williams last month highlights the need for more events such as these to open a dialogue about mental health, and encourage people to talk more openly about their mental wellbeing.
Artwork by Fleet Meadow members is also on display at Cornerstone Art Gallery on Station Road, Didcot, throughout September.
