We are very pleased to announce that the Restore shop at Littlemore Mental Health Centre is now open to members of the public. Restore has taken on the shop and café which will be run by service users of Littlemore Mental Health Centre to support them to develop work-related skills.
Much more than a little shop
Staff from the Oxford Health Secure Services and their service users at Littlemore have been involved in the project from its conception. With the support of Restore staff and volunteers, service users have planned and developed the project and decorated the shop and café. They are currently choosing a name.
Restore is now accepting referrals to the project. The shop will offer the opportunity to develop skills in teamwork, planning, budgeting, cooking, food preparation, customer service and barista work. Refer someone to the group or call 0845 250 0518 for more info. We are also recruiting volunteers to support group members. Find out more about volunteering at Restore or call Rosa on 0845 219 1108 to have a chat about volunteering at the project.
The shop stocks newspapers and magazines, groceries, toiletries, and handmade gifts and cards. They have a range of delicious coffees available to take away. Homemade sandwiches, pasties, and cakes will be available as soon as the adjoining café opens. Watch this space!
The shop is located on the left as you enter the Littlemore Mental Health Centre main entrance. It is open 9.30am – 3pm, Monday to Friday.
