The skills and talents of both the Beehive and Elder Stubbs recovery groups have been recognised in recent Britain in Bloom competitions.
The City of Oxford was awarded a Silver Gilt at this year’s Britain in Bloom awards on 19th September. Our own Elder Stubbs group was mentioned as one of the highlights by the judges. The panel visited the allotment-based group as part of their tour of the city and were impressed by what they saw. Congratulations to the group members, staff and volunteers who have all worked very hard to make the site beautiful despite the inclement weather.
In the local Oxford in Bloom competition, the Beehive triumphed again this year in the community garden category. The group were delighted to win the Silver Award. With funding from Ecominds, the group have been developing the garden this year with a new gazebo, willow dome and mosaic bench. Watch this space for the official opening. Well done to all our green-fingered members, volunteers and staff!
